This special wedding anniversary caricature features multiple generations of the family and was commissioned to celebrate a very special wedding anniversary! Featuring 15 members of the family, it was a unique and very special caricature to produce.

The initial enquiry from the client was:

Hi Patrick! Saw your site, and your drawings looks wonderful.

It’s my mum and dad’s wedding anniversary on August 7th, and was thinking of getting a drawing done of them with their 3 children and families (me, my wife and 2 kids, my sister, husband and 2 kids, my brother, wife and son, along with 2 kids from ex-marriage!).

I have no idea how this would even work in a picture, but somehow putting everyone in in some kind of picture that we could then frame.

a) is this even possible (if we sent you pictures of the various parts of the family) and (b) how much would it cost?

After a bit of thought about a suitable theme, I responded to the client with this idea:

Hi Paul

Since it’s a family with various generations, what about a family tree…but…a real tree with grandparents at the top in a treehouse, parents lower down, with kids at the bottom playing on swings, dogs running around etc.

Otherwise any other theme relevant to their interests.

12”x 18” minimum recommended but I would go for 16”x24”.

The other option is panoramic size with 2 trees and a walkway between. Grandparents one side and a mix of parents and children on other tree and on walkways, swings, on grass etc
