Basketball caricatures continue to be one of the most popular sport caricatures drawn each month. This one was for the coach of the Marlins team. The request was to have Coach Heath drawn holding a basketball and to include the names of each team player.

The original description from the customer was:

Hi Patrick,

Just sending some photos to help with the quote request I just submitted.

I have previously ordered something similar from you. See the below Caricature.

It would be similar to the below, just with a different coach wearing a different club shirt. I would also alter the barriers behind to be the different club logo (so replace the pumas logo with the below marlins logo- still with black background) and on the other barrier have the players names and numbers on white background with maroon writing (replacing the yellow and Mr President). Would love the remainder of the background to stay the same or similar in design and colours. I would also need the pumas taken off the basketball being held by the coach.

Once I get the quote returned I will source photos of the coach to send through, along with the kids names and numbers. 

Would love his body shape/size to be similar stature to what you did below also.

After confirming everything with Stacey, I then received a fuller description with more detail. Descriptions with plenty of detail are really helpful as they personalise the caricature for the client. You can include as much detail as you want in the caricature. Sometimes, the personal touches really do add to the story. Othertimes, a simpler background and theme is required. I will always let you know what will work best based on your required size and finish.

Hi Patrick,

Please find the attached photos of Coach Heath and the Marlins logo. He has blue eyes if you can’t tell by the photos. Please can you have him wearing the black marlins polo shirt as show in the first photo and the denim shorts and black runners as shown in the last photo of him. The photo of him in the green shirt is probably the best representation of his facial  features. He does have a small thick silver sleeper/earring in his left ear as you can just see in the first photo.

As previously discussed, could we please have a similar background as the earlier caricature ordered (final photo is previous caricature) – changing the person (and clothes)  and the court barriers. 

Please replace the pumas sign on the black barrier with the marlins club logo (photo attached) still on black background. 

And can you swap out the yellow barrier with a maroon background barrier adding the following names in white : Rose, Lola, Lucy, Amelie, Andi, Lily N, Lily H, Asha. 

Finally can you please take “pumas” off the ball the coach is holding and replace it with “Coach Heath”.
